Please join us for the Pavek Cup on February 24th and 25th, where the ice at Lufkin Rink will be alive with the thrill of competition and the warmth of community. This year, we gather not only to celebrate the sport we love, but also to honor the memory of Joe Garassino '99, a cherished member of the Rumsey Hall family whose spirit continues to inspire us all. Joe's journey at Rumsey spanned seven formative years, leaving an indelible mark on the campus and the hearts of all who knew him.
As you walk the grounds of Rumsey Hall, you will encounter reminders of Joe's enduring legacy. From the M. Joseph Garassino '99 Classroom Building, where young minds are nurtured and inspired, to the tranquil spot by the river adorned with Joe's poignant yearbook quote by James Dean, his presence is felt in every corner of the campus. Despite facing unimaginable challenges in his battle with cancer, Joe's unwavering positivity and strength of spirit continue to resonate with all who knew him.
Join us for two days of exhilarating hockey action as teams compete for the coveted Pavek Cup, all while supporting a cause dear to Joe's heart. In his final days, Joe's journal was filled with words of resilience and hope, a testament to his remarkable courage in the face of adversity. Let's come together to honor Joe's memory and raise funds for the Joe Garassino Foundation, ensuring that his legacy of kindness and compassion lives on. Your presence and support at the Pavek Cup will make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer in our community.
